SoS isn't the point of an SoS rit (). You can't hit the r14 channeling breakpoint for SW with a non-rit, can you? For reference, SW @ r16 outputs over 60% more damage per cast then SW @ r12. Its one of the quickest scaling skills in the game, most others are lucky to see a 20-30% increase in effectiveness.
TBH, if running a ST rit hero you are best off leaving them with nothing but shelter, maybe one other spirit. Shelter is the only spirit that is actually important, a hero ST rit that only keeps that up does fine.

Assuming the rarity vs drop rate is the same as in the past, the price should be roughly similar to what an equivalent rarity mini was last year. I highly doubt anyone who has gotten a 5th year mini is going to be deleting their character, so the influx of 6th year tonics should follow a similar pattern. There are lots of other possible mitigating factors that could affect the demand side of the equation, but the supply rate is almost certainly going to be nearly identical to what we are used to. Expect price drops at the same times in which many new accounts were created in the first year, therefore leading to a quickened influx of tonics.

Strongly disagree. One of the primary drivers of mini prices the last year has been the HoM. You've totally failed to take this into account.

agreed with trav. When the 5th year minis came out, those went straight into HOM and had a use. If these were the very first tonics to come out, I'm sure there might be some lasting demand. But for many, tonics are only with how many party points they give you, and EL tonics give you none which means they have no real marketable value. Plus almost all the skins are heroes, which we can see any time we want. I say these tonics drop in value very fast.
On the other hand, this will prop up the price of 5th year minis, and earlier minis to a lesser extent.

Seriously, am I the only player who ever used SOS rits because shadow stepping behind them makes aggro balls that are easy to spike? SOS is underwhelming otherwise, but try it...ebon escape to your line and all the creatures wrap around the spirits. Deep Freeze, Panic, Esurge...you know where im going.

humm ... i am ho-hum about the 6th year presents. when i read about more tonics i was rather excited, i thought "this would be a great opportunity for a-net to let the masses enjoy some of their favourite things!"
i was thinking ... everlasting polar bear, naga, island guardian, vizu, panda ... personally, i'd want an el. yakkington tonic!
but the same heroes i spend hours looking at every week? just ... meh ... no interest.

Quote for truth.
And even less than 100k, they are going to cost 10-20k/ea. Let the market be flodded as same as first minis.

If it weren't for SoS, I'm not sure I'd run the Rit.
I never used to, but it does depend on how well I could fit in other templates whilst keeping AR, Splinter Weapon and the couple of heals the guy brings.

I DID say that a number of debatable factors could affect the demand side. However...
I highly, HIGHLY doubt someone is going to be buying 5th or (potential) 6th year minis for HoM. 99% of players buying stuff for HoM are picking up year 1 or year 2 minis (which naturally have a massively higher supply at any given time and are therefore cheaper). Since there is no difference between years as far as HoM is concerned, there is no reason to go for the higher priced ones except for the .1% of guild wars players who care about spending 100s of ectos on vanity. And if anything, tonics are just as vain or moreso than minis. They are certainly a whole lot more RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing annoying to me when I go into towns and see all the shitty shape changed people.

Also, there are more than twice the amount of tonics than a bday mini series, so the chance of getting the 'right' one is smaller as well.

Personally bleh on the tonics. I don't want to look like one of my own heroes and don't want to prty with someone who looks like one of his heroes - that would just be confusing. So even if the drop to 10 g ea I won't be buying.
Now if the el bunny worked in explorable - that would be cool.

Issue with high-res textures in outposts
Great update but I'm having problems with the high-res texture option for outposts. I tick the option in the graphics settings but each time i exit the client it un-ticks itself and doesn’t want to save. All other settings stay on but it’s just the new options.
Is anyone else having these issues?
Thanks

Seems like we are getting a lot of the stuff we have asked for in the past...ability to change back to the old log in screens in the works?
